Founded by Larry Bell in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Bell’s Brewery, Inc. sold its first beer in September 1985. Beer was initially brewed in a 15-gallon soup kettle and the company has grown remarkably from its production of 135 barrels (1 bbl = 31 gal.) in 1986 to a capacity of more than 500,000 barrels today.
As the colors of the leaves change, so do the colors of our beers! Come check out these new offerings from Bell’s Brewery, available for a limited time only!
Bell’s Expedition Stout– A perfect candidate for cellaring, this heavy and complex Russian Imperial Stout boasts layers of chocolate, burnt sugar, dark fruit, and hoppy bitterness that will integrate given time in bottle. Try one now, for sure, but squirrel the rest away until next winter to truly enjoy this beer as it was meant to be enjoyed: $16.99/6pk
Bell’s Double Cream Stout– Highly allocated and difficult to come by, this lush seasonal is a rare treat. Rich and creamy in texture (there’s no dairy involved), this ale combines ten specialty malts to produce intense aromas and flavors of chocolate, creme brulee, and espresso bean. Just a hint of roasty hop dryness cleans up the finish, keeping you coming back for that next sip. Dessert in a glass: $11.99/6pk
Bell’s Java Stout– Brewed with a custom roasted blend of coffee beans from Water Street Coffee Joint, this beer is a real eye-opener! This beer pours a dark brown/black, with a wonderfully full and lacy head. Smells and tastes like freshly roasted coffee, with hints of vanilla cream, mollases, and a mild nuttiness. The mouthfeel is velvety, leading into a finish with only a hint of espresso bean bitterness. Rise and shine, stout drinkers, and grab a sixer of these while they last: $14.99/6pk
Bell’s Best Brown Ale– Here’s the perfect beer for a late Autumn afternoon. While certainly not short on malt, what’s really striking about this beer is its balance. Caramel and cocoa flavors are just kept in check by a light bitterness that finishes as crisp and dry as a Fall breeze. No residual stickiness or medicinal astringency left over here, just a strong desire to head back to the fridge for a second bottle: $9.99/6pk
