Casa Rossa Ile de Beute Rosé - Corsica
Niellucciu - 70%; Grenache - 30%
Way off the radar until just a few years ago, Corsican wines are enjoying an explosion in popularity in both Europe and here in the States. The locally indigenous varietal Niellucciu is thought to be the local clone of Sangiovese, giving the wine it's notes of herbs and spice. The addition of the Grenache balances those spice notes with a heaping dollop of bright red fruits and richness. Great for the porch or patio, but this one will also stand up to spicy BBQ and Cajun.

La Veguilla - Expresion 2016
La Veguilla is located in the heart of “Ribera del Duero in an area know as "Golden Mile", close to the river Duero, with perfect soil structure and excellent exposure to the sun. Here, Tempranillo is king, and in this region, it's known as Tinta del País or Tinto FIno. Two generations of the Garcia family tend the vineyards and make the wine continuing a long heritage of wine making excellence in the region. The Garcia family consider this wine to be the perfect "expression" of Tinto Fino. There's just a touch of used, practically neutral oak that gives the wine it's round smooth edges. Dark red and blue fruits greet from the glass moving into the palate of dark berries, blueberry, black cherry and hints of espresso and mocha. Park any kind of steak or chops along side this gem but don't be afraid to enjoy it without food as well! This is one of Larry's personal selections, and we feel there is NO better value available in Ribera del Duero.
