She began her career in wine as a buyer for a major grocery store chain in the E.U. and spent years traveling all throughout Europe meeting winemakers and making key connections in the trade. Gota Prunus Branco
Encruzado (50%), Cerceal Branco (20%), Malvasia Fina (15%) and Bical (15%)
The 2017 Prunus Branco is nicely-rounded and harmonious, with ripe and concentrated fruit flavors of peaches, yellow plums, and apricots. Floral notes linger on the nose, while mineral nuances on the palate lead to a lengthy mouth-watering finish. Enjoy this vibrant white with all seafood. poultry, white meats, and creamy pasta creations.
Gota Prunus Tinto
Jaen (80%), Tinta Roriz (10%), Alfrocheiro Preto (5%) and Touriga Nacional (5%)
The 2015 Prunus Tinto is aged in well-used 225 liter French and Portuguese oak barrels, providing an elegance seldom seen in such an affordable wine. Extra aging in the bottle at the winery before release adds even more finesse.
Plums, mulberry, blackberries and anise all jump from the glass on the nose leading to a generous palate of black cherry and raspberry. Creamy, chocolaty tones finish the palate that’s nicely framed by subtle oak shadings. I can’t think of too many foods this red wouldn’t compliment — I’d love it with soups, stews, chops and of course, Caldo Verde!
