New Favorite "Tuesday Night" Côtes du Rhône

La Source du Clos is a super-smooth, classic Rhône blend of Grenache and Syrah. There isn’t even a hint of a rough edge on this wine; it’s all about silky-smooth, dark red fruits. It’s a remarkably food-friendly red that doubles nicely as a porch sipper.eyards in the village of Tavel more than three centuries ago. The Paly family has managed the property since the end of the 17th century. Today Anne Luce Coulomb-Paly and Christian Paly, brother and sister, jointly manage the winery.

The Domaine has holdings in Tavel and Lirac AOC, Côtes du Rhône, and also produces IGP wines grown on 65 hectares in the Rhône Valley. This wealth of appellations, grape varieties, and terroirs enables the Chantepierre winery to offer an excellent selection of charming wines that perfectly represent the region.

The blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, with 20% Carignan and Mourvèdre sports a dense purple color in the glass. Aromas of spice and dark red fruit lead to a rich palate of crushed dark red berries, plum, and brown spice. The wine is aged entirely in stainless steel, providing a lovely freshness and lift. Pair this one with any meats from the grill or pan-seared chops.
