The Blackbird’s goal is to delight it’s guests with cooking grounded in the traditions and ingredients of the Carolinas creating an affordable and vibrant menu – Modern Southern with a “nod” to tradition.
Chef Bobby Buggia has been cooking all over the country from South Carolina at the Mobil Four-Star/AAA Four-Diamond Peninsula Grill in Charleston to San Fransico, Sonoma and Napa Valleys and even a few unique spots in the “fly-over zone”. His cuisine is routed in the land of the south, it’s people, farmers, and fishermen. As Executive Chef he brings to the table a passionate and modern approach that is always evolving with each season especially now that he has a new smoker, playing with the Southern “low and slow” in the wonderful brand- new kitchen of The Blackbird.
Pastry Chef Roz Taubman has been perfecting her craft since that first cupcake at the age of six. Beginning in Paris with a relentless passion for learning all pastry made in the French tradition to Charleston SC, to opening her first restaurant Latif’s. Being part of the original movement of low country cuisine she was noted in Food and Wine, Gourmet, and Bon Appetite magazines along with numerous awards and accolades.
The combined talents of Chefs and owners Bobby Buggia and Roz Taubman create a comfortable, modern, handcrafted approach to the great foods of the South. Join us for this exciting evening of wine, food and camaraderie.
